It was a good run, but the Mansfield Christian Flames unfortunately witnessed the end of their nine-game winning streak on Friday. They fell just short of Lucas by a score of 61-58. Having run the score up that high, both teams probably have some extra defensive drills coming up.
It was another big night for Logan Toms, who scored 28 points along with five rebounds and two steals for Lucas. Toms is on a roll when it comes to steals, as he's now grabbed two or more in the last five games he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Aidan Culler, who dropped a double-double on 15 points and 15 rebounds.
Mansfield Christian's defeat ended a four-game streak of away wins and brought them to 15-4. As for Lucas, they pushed their record up to 14-3 with that victory, which was their 14th straight at home dating back to last season.
Mansfield Christian will take on Fredericktown at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. One thing working in Mansfield Christian's favor is that they have posted big point totals in their last 11 matches. As for Lucas, they didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 72-55 loss vs. Willard on the 10th.
