The South Dearborn Knights will take on the Connersville Spartans at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. The last three games South Dearborn has played have been within two runs, so don't be surprised if it's a close one.
While South Dearborn's victory against Rising Sun wasn't quite the blowout it was the last time the pair played, they still came out on top. The Knights beat the Shiners on Wednesday by the very same score they won with in their prior game: 7-6.
Jackson Johnson was a major factor no matter where he played. He looked comfortable on the mound, tossing 3.1 innings while giving up just one earned (and two unearned) runs off four hits. Connersville couldn't beat South Dearborn on Monday even though they stacked five runs on them in the second inning. The Spartans fell just short of the Knights by a score of 7-6. The Spartans have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.
Landon Lykins made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and went 2-for-3 with one run and one RBI. The team also got some help courtesy of Parker Flanigan, who went 2-for-3 with one run.

The batters for both teams will have to hit smart on Thursday as both have some strikeout artists on the roster. South Dearborn has been retiring batters left and right this season, having averaged 8.2 strikeouts per game. However, it's not like Connersville struggles in that department as they've been averaging 6.8 strikeouts. Considering how easily both teams rack up Ks, the hitters on both teams better bring their A-game into this one.
South Dearborn skirted past Connersville 7-6 in their previous meeting on Monday. Do the Knights have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Spartans turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
