Lamar is 2-8 against the Mustangs since January of 2015 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Friday. Lamar waltzed into their game on Saturday with three straight wins but they left with four. They walked away with a 57-48 win over Buena Vista.
Lamar got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Alex Williams out in front who scored nine points along with eight rebounds and six blocks. Deyago Vasquez was another key contributor, scoring 17 points.
Meanwhile, Manitou Springs came into Wednesday's match having lost three straight, but that streak is now in the rearview. They took down Florence 63-49 on Wednesday. The victory was just what Manitou Springs needed coming off of a 75-46 loss in their prior match.
Lamar is on a roll lately: they've won eight of their last nine contests, which provided a nice bump to their 12-3 record this season. As for Manitou Springs, their victory bumped their record up to 7-9.
