Even though the Cypress Creek Coyotes have not done well against the Land O' Lakes Gators recently (they were 0-9 in their previous nine matchups), they didn't let the past get in their way on Wednesday. Cypress Creek slipped by Land O' Lakes 35-34. The win made it back-to-back wins for Cypress Creek.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Cypress Creek to victory, but perhaps none more so than Caleb Edmonds, who scored eight points along with eight rebounds. That's the first time this season that Edmonds pulled down eight or more rebounds. Ryan Eaton was another key contributor, scoring eight points along with eight rebounds.
Land O' Lakes lost despite a true team effort on the offense, the best among them being Jordan Massie, who scored ten points along with three steals. Massie scored a full 29.4% of Land O' Lakes' points, the fourth time in a row he's earned more than a third of the team's points. The team also got some help courtesy of Max Moore, who scored 11 points along with four steals.
Land O' Lakes struggled to get the ball back on offense and finished the game with only two offensive rebounds. They were crushed by their opponents in that department as Cypress Creek pulled down ten offensive rebounds.
Cypress Creek's win bumped their record up to 2-4. As for Land O' Lakes, they are on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-4.
Cypress Creek will look to defend their home court on Friday against Pasco at 7:30 p.m. Hopefully Pasco focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up five on Wednesday. As for Land O' Lakes, they will head out on the road to face off against Carrollwood Day at 7:30 p.m. on Wednesday. Carrollwood Day presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than Land O' Lakes in Florida (Carrollwood Day is ranked 236th, while Land O' Lakes is ranked 562nd).
