Robert Mcdaniel Turns in Season-Best Effort
Hughson was led to victory by Robert Mcdaniel, who turned in his biggest game of the season on Friday. Mcdaniel wasn't messing around, throwing for 427 yards and five touchdowns while picking up 15.8 yards per attempt. The contest was his third straight with three or more passing touchdowns dating back to last season.

He's now once again averaging 100+ rushing yards (112.9) per game. He showed off some serious burst, cutting through the defense on one rush that went for 69 yards.
Sonora's loss ended a six-game streak of away wins dating back to last season and brought them to 6-1. Sutton and Sonora will challenge Ripon at 7:30 p.m. on Friday.

Ellerd Came Up Big in Hilmar's 21-13 Win
Winning always takes teamwork, but on Friday Merek Ellerd stepped things up a notch to give Hilmar the 'W'. Nobody could stop Ellerd as he rushed for 68 yards and a touchdown on only seven carries, and also threw for 111 yards and two touchdowns while completing 72.2% of his passes.
Hilmar now has a winning record of 4-3. Ellerd's next matchup is against Summerville on Friday, where he'll look to repeat that solid performance.

Hughson Wins Seventh-Straight Thanks to Malakai Sumter
Malakai Sumter was instrumental in extending Hughson's winning streak to seven on Friday. Sumter was dynamite, picking up 117 receiving yards and two touchdowns. He torched the secondary when he pulled down a catch that went for 73 yards.
