Davis will challenge Coalgate on the road at 7:30 PM on Thursday. Both teams have set a high bar for this contest after stand-out offensive performances in their previous contests.
After constant struggles on the road, Davis have finally found some success away from home. They put the hurt on Comanche with a sharp 38-6 victory. The win was a breath of fresh air for Davis as it put an end to their six-game losing streak.
Meanwhile, Coalgate put the finishing touches on their 3rd blowout victory of the season last Friday. They made easy work of Lindsay and carried off a 50-27 victory. Coalgate were expected to win, but the margin was definitely larger than the state rankings had forecast.
Their wins bumped Davis to 2-6 and Coalgate to 6-1. In their win, Coalgate relied heavily on senior Blade Horton, who rushed for 364 yards and 7 touchdowns. Davis will need to find a way to minimize his impact if they want to win.
