The New Braunfels Thunder Homeschool will head out on the road to square off against the Hill Country Christian Rams at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. New Braunfels Thunder is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 8.4 runs per game this season.
While New Braunfels Thunder's victory against Grace Academy wasn't quite the blowout it was the last time the pair played, they still came out on top. The Homeschool narrowly escaped with a win as the team sidled past Grace Academy 6-4. The victory was a breath of fresh air for the Homeschool as it put an end to their three-game losing streak.
Israel Fuentes was incredible, going a perfect 2-for-2 with three RBI and one triple. The team also got some help courtesy of Connor Madsen, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with two RBI, one run, and one double.
They weren't the only ones making solid contact: New Braunfels Thunder kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 12 hits. The team's really been improving in that area: they've now improved their hit total in three consecutive contests.
Meanwhile, Hill Country Christian can bid farewell to their six-game losing streak thanks to their game on Monday. Neither they nor Bishop Reicher Catholic could gain the upper hand so the two teams had to settle for a 12-12 draw. Considering the Rams' hitters had been struggling lately, the high-scoring outing was a much-needed turnaround.
Hill Country Christian's draw makes their record 2-11-1 this season. As for New Braunfels Thunder, their win bumped their record up to 14-9-1.
