There's no place like home for the Idalia Wolves, who bounced back after a tough loss on the road last Friday. They came out on top against Cheyenne Wells by a score of 29-22 on Friday. The win was just what Idalia needed coming off of a 47-21 loss in their prior contest.
It was another big night for Jaylyn Kechter, who dropped a double-double on 17 points and 12 rebounds. That's the first time this season that she scored 15 or more points. Another player making a difference was Brigette Kite, who scored three points along with eight rebounds and five assists.
Cheyenne Wells lost despite a true team effort on the offense, the best among them being Paige Ryser, who scored four points. Ryser is absolutely dominating the steal category: she's posted at least two every time she's taken the court this season.
Perhaps unsurprisingly given the score, Cheyenne Wells struggled to get the ball back on offense and finished the game with only four offensive rebounds. That's the fewest offensive rebounds they've managed all season.
Idalia's win ended a three-game drought at home dating back to last season and bumped them up to 3-1. As for Cheyenne Wells, they still haven't won a game yet this season and fell to 0-4.
Idalia won't have much time to rest: their next contest is against Briggsdale at 1:30 p.m. on December 16th. Briggsdale is coming into the contest hot, having won their last three games. Cheyenne Wells won't have much time to rest: their next contest is against Cheylin at 10:30 a.m. on December 16th.
