Winning is just a little bit easier when you work as a team to rack up seven more assists than your opponent, a fact the Green Canyon Wolves proved on Thursday. They claimed a resounding 68-30 win over Stansbury on the road. Given Green Canyon's advantage in MaxPreps' Utah basketball rankings (they are ranked 17th, while Stansbury is ranked 83rd), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Among those leading the charge was Janalynn Blotter, who scored 14 points along with 8 rebounds. The contest was her third in a row with at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Marissa Best, who scored 14 points.
Green Canyon now has a winning record of 2-1. As for Stansbury, they still haven't won a game yet this season and fell to 0-3.
Green Canyon will look to defend their home court on Friday against Box Elder at 5:30 p.m. Hopefully Box Elder focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 16 on Tuesday. As for Stansbury, they will head out on the road to face off against Taylorsville at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Hopefully Taylorsville focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 31 on Friday.
