Duncanville is 10-0 against DeSoto since February of 2017, and they'll have a chance to extend that success on Friday. The Duncanville Panthers and Pantherettes will look to defend their home pitch against the DeSoto Eagles at 7:00 p.m. The teams are on pretty different trajectories at the moment (Duncanville has eight straight wins, DeSoto has four straight defeats), but none of that matters once you're on the field.
Duncanville stacked a seventh blowout win onto their ever-increasing hoard on Tuesday. Their defense stepped up to hand Skyline a 10-0 shutout. While fans of Duncanville might be used to big wins, the ten-goal margin marked the team's biggest victory yet this season.
Meanwhile, while it was all tied up 1-1 at halftime, DeSoto was not quite Cedar Hill's equal in the second half on Tuesday. They fell just short of the Longhorns by a score of 3-2. The defeat unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for DeSoto in their matchups with Cedar Hill: they've now lost three in a row.
Duncanville pushed their record up to 10-0-1 with that victory, which was their fourth straight on the road. Those victories were due in large part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they scored 23 goals over those four games. As for DeSoto, they have been struggling recently as they've lost five of their last six games, which put a noticeable dent in their 2-6-1 record this season.
Duncanville took their victory against DeSoto in their previous matchup back in March of 2023 by a conclusive 9-0. Will Duncanville repeat their success, or does DeSoto have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
