The Garber Wolverines and the Velma-Alma Comets squared off in some playoff action on Friday, but sadly the Garber Wolverines had to settle for second. Garber took a hard 56-40 fall against Velma-Alma. Garber's loss signaled the end of their three-game winning streak.
When it comes to explaining why Garber lost, one person who can't be blamed is Carson Bishop. Despite the final result, he rushed for 158 yards and three touchdowns on only 14 carries. Domingo Ramirez was in the mix too, providing Garber with two touchdowns.
Garber's loss dropped their record down to 6-6. As for Velma-Alma, the win (which was their seventh in a row) raised their record to 11-1.
Garber does not have any more games scheduled as of now. Velma-Alma will face off against Drumright at TBD on Friday. One thing working in Drumright's favor is that they have now posted big point totals every time they've taken the field this season.
