After a string of three wins, West Potomac's good fortune finally ran out on Monday. They took a 10-7 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Hanahan Hawks.
West Potomac got a big performance out of Barrett Baker, who scored two runs and stole a base while going 1-for-3. Baker also put up a double, which was his first of the season. Killian Kenney was another key player, scoring a run while going 2-for-3.
West Potomac's defeat dropped their record down to 5-4. As for Hanahan, they are on a roll lately: they've won six of their last eight games. That's provided a nice bump to their 8-6-1 record this season.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. West Potomac will head out to square off against South County at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Hanahan, they will have some time to savor their win since their next game is a little ways off: they'll take on Bishop England at 6:00 p.m. on the 30th.
