The West Middlesex Big Reds will take on the Sharpsville Blue Devils at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday. West Middlesex is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 13 runs per game this season.
West Middlesex hadn't beaten Mercer on the road since May 23, 2022 but that history sure didn't bother them on Wednesday. The Big Reds came out on top against the Mustangs by a score of 10-5. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Big Reds.
The team relied heavily on Roman Golub, who went 2-for-3 with one home run, three RBI, and two runs. He also hit a triple, marking his first of the season. Another player making a difference was Kameron Miles, who went 2-for-3 with two RBI, one run, and one double.
While Sharpsville didn't have the best season last year (they finished 6-11), it's starting to look like those struggles are a thing of the past. They walked away with a 4-1 win over Wilmington on Wednesday.
DOMINIC TARNOCI was excellent, going 2-for-3 with two runs and one stolen base. DOM MALONE was another key player, getting on base in two of his three plate appearances with two runs.

Thursday's contest will be a test for both teams' pitchers. West Middlesex hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .454. However, it's not like Sharpsville struggles in that department as they've averaged .366. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
West Middlesex got the 'W' when the teams last played back in May of 2025 against Sharpsville by a conclusive 7-0 score. Do the Big Reds have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Blue Devils turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
