There's no place like home for Academy of Our Lady of Peace, who bounced back after a tough loss on the road  last Wednesday. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with  a  7-6  win over the El Capitan Vaqueros  on Monday.   Alexandra Riggs and  Stefini Ma'ake made a big impact while hitting and pitching. Throwing,  Riggs   pitched two innings while giving up   no  earned runs off   two  hits (she also didn't allow any  walks). Meanwhile,  Ma'ake   struck out six batters over  six innings while giving up just one earned  (and two unearned) runs off   seven  hits (and not a single walk). At the plate,  Riggs  went 1-for-4 with a  home run,  an  additional RBI,  and  an  additional run, while  Ma'ake  went 5-for-5 with a  home run, three  additional RBI,  and two  doubles. Ma'ake is on a roll when it comes to  RBI, as she's  now  brought in three or more in the last three games she's  played.
 In other batting news, Academy of Our Lady of Peace let  Emma Dominguez and  Alayna Ma'ake loose on the outfield. Dominguez  scored three  runs and  stole three bases while going 2-for-5, while  Ma'ake  scored a  run and  stole a base while going 2-for-5.
 On El Capitan's side,  Alyssa Cole spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered five earned  (and two unearned) runs on 12 hits. Those nine  innings set a new season-high mark for her.
 On the hitting side,  Ciara Bernardini made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and  scored a  run while going 6-for-6.  Kylee Frazier was another key contributor,  scoring two  runs and  stealing a base while going 3-for-5.
 Even though they lost, El Capitan  kept the outfield on their toes and  finished the game with 18  hits. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Academy of Our Lady of Peace only hit 11.
 Academy of Our Lady of Peace now  has a winning record of 4-3-1. As for El Capitan, their defeat dropped their record down to 3-5-4.
 Academy of Our Lady of Peace will head out on the road to  face off against  Mission Hills at 4:00  p.m.  on Wednesday. The last five games Academy of Our Lady of Peace has played have been within two runs, so don't be surprised if it's a close one. As for El Capitan, they will look to defend their home field  on Wednesday against Otay Ranch at 4:00  p.m. El Capitan is facing Otay Ranch at the right time seeing as Otay Ranch is stuck on  a  four-game losing streak.
