Given Evergreen Christian's advantage in MaxPreps' Virginia basketball rankings (they are ranked 34th, while the Eagles are ranked 216th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Matthew Shelton was his usual excellent self, scoring 30 points along with five assists and five rebounds. He hasn't dropped below 15 points for three straight games. Sidney Burris was another key contributor, scoring 14 points.
Evergreen Christian's win bumped their record up to 20-8. As for Life Christian Academy, they have traveled a rocky road recently having lost six of their last seven matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 4-13 record this season.
Evergreen Christian will face off against the Eagles on Thursday. As for Life Christian Academy, they will look to defend their home court on Thursday against the Guardians at 6:00 p.m.
