The Victor Valley Jackrabbits lost against the Barstow Aztecs back in January of 2023, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Thursday. Victor Valley opened the new year with a less-than-successful 62-53 defeat to Barstow. It was the first time this season that Victor Valley let down their fans at home.
Barstow got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Quesey Gaoa out in front who scored 21 points along with three steals. Those 21 points set a new season-high mark for him. The team also got some help courtesy of Drelyn Brown, who dropped a double-double on 13 points and ten rebounds.
Victor Valley's defeat ended a three-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 6-6. As for Barstow, their victory bumped their record up to 7-10.
Victor Valley will head out on the road to face off against Granite Hills at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Barstow, they will be playing at home against Lakeview Leadership Academy at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
