Basketball Recap: Zarriyah Carter's Big Game Can't Quite Lead Tarrant over Fultondale

Tarrant was not able to break out of their rough patch on Wednesday as the team picked up their fifth straight defeat. They lost to the Fultondale Wildcats on the road by a 63-47 margin. Tarrant was given a dose of their own medicine in this game as Fultondale apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in December of 2023.

Several Wildcats players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Zarriyah Carter, who dropped a double-double on 20 points and 15 rebounds. Carter has been hot for a while, having posted 11 or more rebounds the last ten times she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Jon'Mera Collier, who dropped a double-double on 13 points and 13 rebounds.

Tarrant's defeat dropped their record down to 5-14. As for Fultondale, they are on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four contests, which provided a nice bump to their 7-11 record this season.

Tarrant will look to defend their home court on Friday against Curry at 6:00 p.m. Tarrant has been getting the ball to fall more lately as they've increased their point totals each of their last four games. As for Fultondale, they will challenge Dora at 5:30 p.m. on Friday. Dora will roll in looking for their fourth straight win, something Fultondale surely won't give up without a fight.
