Van Horn walked away with a 35-25 victory over Sierra Blanca on Tuesday. That's another feather in the cap for Van Horn, who also won these teams' last head-to-head.
Van Horn's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Malia Bermudez led the charge by scoring 14 points along with five steals. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Bermudez has scored all season. The team also got some help courtesy of Georgi Sparks, who scored nine points along with four steals.
Van Horn's win was their fifth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 15-7. As for Sierra Blanca, their loss dropped their record down to 5-8.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Van Horn will take on Dell City at 1:00 p.m. on Friday. Dell City comes in still looking for their first win of the season. Sierra Blanca will get a bit of extra time to process the loss as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Balmorhea at 6:00 p.m. on February 6th.
