The Philip Scotties will head out on the road to challenge the New Underwood Tigers at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Philip is hoping to put an end to a three-game streak of away losses.
Philip scored the most points they've had all season to find success on Tuesday. They took their contest at home with ease, bagging a 74-20 victory over Crazy Horse. With that victory, Philip brought their scoring average up to 50.2 points per game.
Philip's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Josie Jones, who dropped a double-double on 14 points and ten rebounds. Jones is absolutely dominating the steal category: she's posted at least two every time she's taken the court this season. The team also got some help courtesy of Drew Terkildsen, who scored 15 points along with five rebounds and five steals.
Meanwhile, even if it wasn't a dominant performance, New Underwood beat Moorcroft 34-29 on Friday. The win was just what New Underwood needed coming off of a 42-20 defeat in their prior game.
The win got Philip back to even at 4-4. As for New Underwood, their win bumped their record up to 2-6.
Philip didn't have too much breathing room in their matchup against New Underwood in their previous meeting back in January of 2023, but they still walked away with a 56-51 win. The rematch might be a little tougher for Philip since the team won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
