The Lone Star Rangers will challenge the Hebron Hawks at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday. Lone Star's pitching crew has only allowed 3.8 runs per game this season, so Hebron's hitters will have their work cut out for them.
While Lone Star's victory against Creekview wasn't quite the blowout it was the last time the pair played, they still came out on top. The Rangers had just enough and edged out the Mustangs 2-1. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Rangers.

Lone Star got a great performance from Connor McNicoll as he struck out seven batters over five innings while giving up just one earned run off one hit (and only one walk). McNicoll also tossed a walk, which is notable because the Rangers are 3-1 when he allows at most one walk, but 6-7-1 otherwise.
On the hitting side, Lone Star's win was truly a team effort as five different players contributed at least one hit. One of them was John Madden, who went 1-for-2 with one stolen base and one double. Canton Cotton was another, going 1-for-3 with one run, one double, and one RBI.
Meanwhile, Hebron was able to grind out a solid victory over Coppell on Friday, taking the game 6-1. The Hawks haven't had any issues with the Cowboys recently, as the game was their sixth consecutive win against them.
Bryce Pacheco tossed a big game, keeping things locked down with no earned runs or hits while striking out six over six innings pitched. Those six strikeouts gave him a new career-high.
At the plate, Landon Bonner was incredible, going 2-for-3 with one triple, two RBI, and one run. Those two RBI gave him a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Casey McGinnis, who went 2-for-4 with two runs and one double.
Lone Star now has a winning record of 9-8-1. As for Hebron, their victory bumped their record up to 5-6.
Fans could be in store for some top-tier slugging on Saturday. Lone Star hasn't had any problems when it comes to power this season, having averaged 0.6 home runs per game. However, it's not like Hebron struggles in that department as they've been averaging 0.6 home runs. With so much power on both teams, it'll be down to the pitchers to keep the mound locked down.
Lone Star couldn't quite get it done against Hebron when the teams last played back in March of 2025 as they fell 6-2. Will the Rangers have more luck at home instead of on the road? Check MaxPreps after the action for a full breakdown of the game and more baseball content.
