Volleyball Recap: Marist Wins Going Away Against Southwest Dekalb + How To Watch

Marist won the last time they faced Southwest DeKalb and things went their way on Tuesday too. The War Eagles were the clear victors by a 3-0 margin over the Panthers. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the War Eagles.

One reason for the win was Marist's just kept getting better, winning each set by more points than the last. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-5, 25-3, 25-2.

Marist found their leader in freshman Sawyer Straley, who had seven digs and seven aces. Addison Lang was another key player, getting 22 assists.

Marist was lethal from the service line and finished the match with 20 aces. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now served at least six aces in four consecutive matches.

Despite the loss, Southwest DeKalb still got an impressive performance from Aivah Peters, who had ten digs.

Marist's win bumped their record up to 32-6. As for Southwest DeKalb, their loss dropped their record down to 18-13.

Marist has already played their next contest, a 3-0 victory against Northview on the 8th. Southwest DeKalb does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
