Two teams were on the hunt for playoff glory, but unfortunately for the Velma-Alma Comets, they weren't the ones who walked away with it. They were beaten by the Wildcats 48-16 on Friday. Velma-Alma's loss signaled the end of their nine-game winning streak.
Velma-Alma's loss came despite strong showings from Langsten Walker and Slade Strickland. Walker picked up 208 receiving yards and a touchdown, while Strickland threw for 226 yards and a touchdown.
Velma-Alma's loss dropped their record down to 13-2. As for Seiling, they pushed their record up to 15-0 with that win, which was their 13th straight at home dating back to last season.
Velma-Alma does not have any more games scheduled as of now. Seiling also has no future games currently scheduled.
