Kim/Branson is 2-8 against Sierra Grande since December of 2014 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Saturday. The Kim/Branson Mustangs will take on the Sierra Grande Panthers at 4:30 p.m. Expect the scorekeeper to be kept busy: if their previous games are any indication, the two teams will really light up the scoreboard.
Kim/Branson took a loss when they played away from home on Friday, but their home fans gave them all the motivation they needed on Saturday. They enjoyed a cozy 62-48 victory over Trinidad.

Kim/Branson's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but David Gamez led the charge by going 7 for 13 en route to 16 points and seven steals. That's the most steals Gamez has posted since back in November of 2023. The team also got some help courtesy of Cameron Rosas, who went 5 of 9 on his way to 10 points along with seven assists and five steals.
Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Sierra Grande). They took their contest on Thursday with ease, bagging an 89-18 win over Lake City Community. The victory was nothing new for the Panthers as they're now sitting on three straight.
Kim/Branson better keep an eye on Jadyn Martinez. He was instrumental in Sierra Grande's win, putting up 22 points. Nehemiah Wilson was another key player, scoring ten points.
Kim/Branson's win was their fifth straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 5-3. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 62.4 points per game. As for Sierra Grande, their victory bumped their record up to 7-2.
Some high-performance offense is likely on the agenda as Kim/Branson and Sierra Grande are some of the highest scoring teams in the league. Kim/Branson hasn't had any problem running up the score this season, having averaged 56.5 points per game. However, it's not like Sierra Grande struggles in that department as they've been averaging 59.7 points. With both teams so easily able to put up points, the only question left is who can run the score up higher.
Kim/Branson ended up a good deal behind Sierra Grande when the teams last played back in December of 2023, losing 48-32. Can Kim/Branson avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
