There's no place like home for the Ferndale Wildcats, who bounced back after a tough loss on the road last Thursday. They took their game at home on Tuesday with ease, bagging a 65-31 victory over Hayfork. That result was just more of the same for these two, as Ferndale also won the last time the pair played back in January of 2023.
Ferndale found their leader in underclassman Prescott Langer, who scored 18 points. Langer continues to roll, besting his previous point total in each of the last four games he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Thomas Fergison, who scored ten points.
Ferndale's win bumped their record up to 4-7. As for Hayfork, they have traveled a rocky road recently, as they've lost four of their last five games, which put a noticeable dent in their 8-6 record this season.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Ferndale will take on South Fork at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday. South Fork presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than Ferndale in California (South Fork is ranked 487th, while Ferndale is ranked 1214th). Hayfork won't have much time to rest: their next match is against Butte Valley at 7:00 p.m. on January 10th.
