Haywood's lost despite a true team effort on the offense, the best among them being Camariya Woodland, who scored 13 points along with 6 rebounds and 4 steals. Woodland scored a full 28.9% of Haywood's points, the second time in a row she's earned more than a third of the team's points. Zamaria Murphy was another key contributor, scoring 18 points along with 7 rebounds.
Jackson Central Merry's win bumped their record up to 1-0. As for Haywood, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 0-2.
