The Holy Cross Knights extended their postseason success on Friday against the Cypress Christian Warriors. They came out on top against the Warriors by a score of 32-22. Holy Cross' win was all the more impressive since Cypress Christian was averaging only 16.33 points allowed on the season.
Marco Gomez went supernova for Holy Cross, picking up 138 receiving yards and two touchdowns, while also rushing for 88 yards. Gibby Alvarado was another key player, having thrown for 261 yards and three touchdowns.
The victory (which was Holy Cross' tenth in a row) raised their record to 10-2. They've been dominating during the games in that stretch too, as they've won by an average of 35.6 points. As for Cypress Christian, their defeat dropped their record down to 8-4.
Holy Cross will face off against Dallas Christian at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday. One thing working in Dallas Christian's favor is that they have posted big point totals in their last ten games. Cypress Christian does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
