Hilltop has gone 8-2 against Edon recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Tuesday. The Cadets will challenge the Bombers at 5:00 p.m. Hilltop is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 12.9 runs per game this season.
Last Saturday, Hilltop made easy work of Delta and carried off a 13-3 win. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Cadets.
Kelsy Connolly made a big impact no matter where she played. She tossed five innings while giving up three earned runs off four hits. She has been nothing but reliable on the mound: she hasn't given up more than two walks in six consecutive appearances. She was also solid in the batter's box, scoring a run while going 1-for-4.
In other batting news, Hilltop let Sophia Crossgrove and Libbie Baker run wild. Crossgrove went 2-for-3 with one home run and four RBI, while Baker went a perfect 2-for-2 with one home run, three RBI, and two runs. Brooklyn Kuszmaul also deserves some recognition as she launched her first home run of the season.
Hilltop lost a few balls and finished the game with four home runs. That's the most home runs they've posted since the start of last season.
Meanwhile, Edon was not able to break out of their rough patch on Monday as the team picked up their fourth straight loss. They fell 13-8 to Pettisville. On the bright side, the eight- run performance marked the Bombers' highest-scoring game to date.
Hilltop's record is now 9-1. As for Edon, their defeat dropped their record down to 0-4.
