Basketball Recap: T.L. Hanna Takes a Loss

T.L. Hanna was the 60-55 winner over Spartanburg when they last played one another two weeks ago, but their luck changed this time around. The T.L. Hanna Yellow Jackets fell to the Spartanburg Vikings 54-50. The contest marked the Yellow Jackets' lowest-scoring match so far this season.

When it comes to explaining why T.L. Hanna lost on Wednesday, don't look at Tamerah Wynn. Despite the final result, she dropped a double-double on 20 points and ten rebounds. Those 20 points gave Wynn a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Harmoni Earl, who almost dropped a double-double on 12 points and nine boards.

Even though they lost, T.L. Hanna smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 14 offensive rebounds. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least eight offensive boards in nine consecutive games dating back to last season.

Kamryn Sainvil was nothing short of spectacular for Spartanburg: she shot 4-for-7 from downtown and dropped a double-double on 26 points and ten boards. With that strong performance, Sainvil is now averaging an impressive 15.3 points per game. Kaylee Nelson was another key player, putting up six points and nine rebounds.

T.L. Hanna's defeat dropped their record down to 3-2. As for Spartanburg, the victory was the third in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 4-5.

T.L. Hanna and Savannah Athletic Association will round out the year against one another at at 2:30 p.m. on December 28th. T.L. Hanna is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 57 points per game this season. As for Spartanburg, they wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next contest, a 33-31 win against Indian Land on the 21st.
