Perry-Lecompton and Nemaha Central are an even 5-5 against one another since April of 2019, but likely not for long. The Kaws will look to defend their home field on Monday against the Thunder at 4:30 p.m. The teams are on pretty different trajectories at the moment (Perry-Lecompton has four straight wins, Nemaha Central has eight straight losses), but none of that matters once you're on the field.
Perry-Lecompton barely beat Sabetha the last time the pair played, but that sure wasn't the case this time around. The Kaws put the hurt on the Bluejays with a sharp 17-3 victory on Tuesday. Surprisingly, this marked the fifth straight game in which the away team has come away the victor in this series.

Taylor Armbrust and Olivia Hart made a big impact no matter where they played. On the mound, Armbrust pitched two innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. Meanwhile, Hart didn't allow a single earned run over five innings pitched. Armbrust has been consistent: she hasn't given up more than two walks in six consecutive appearances. At the plate, Armbrust went 3-for-5 with three RBI and two runs, while Hart went 2-for-5 with three runs and one stolen base. Those three RBI gave Armbrust a new career-high.
In other batting news, Perry-Lecompton got a massive performance out of Jolie Corcoran, who went 5-for-6 with two stolen bases, two runs, and one double. Those five hits gave Corcoran a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Macie Corcoran, who went 2-for-5 with one home run, three runs, and two RBI.
Meanwhile, Nemaha Central scored the most runs they've had this season on Monday, but it wasn't enough. They fell just short of Sabetha by a score of 8-7. That's two games in a row now that the Thunder have lost by just one run.
Perry-Lecompton's win bumped their record up to 6-8. As for Nemaha Central, their defeat dropped their record down to 0-4.
Perry-Lecompton was able to grind out a solid victory over Nemaha Central in their previous matchup back in April of 2025, winning 6-3. Will the Kaws repeat their success, or do the Thunder have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
