The New West Charter Eagles won the last time they faced the Foshay Wolverines, and things went their way on Monday too. New West Charter managed a 60-54 victory over Foshay. The win made it back-to-back wins for New West Charter.
Liam Hakimi continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines, scoring 39 points. Armon Behikeesh was another key contributor, scoring 10 points.
Despite the loss, Foshay had strong showings from Peter Egwurube, who dropped a double-double on 21 points and 13 rebounds, and Gabriel Wright, who dropped a double-double on 18 points and 10 rebounds. Egwurube scored a full 38.9% of Foshay's points, the second time in a row he's earned more than a third of the team's points. Another player making a difference was Jaysen Escobar, who scored 8 points.
New West Charter now has a winning record of 4-3. As for Foshay, they now have a losing record at 3-4.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. New West Charter will take on Middle College at 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are ranked near one another in California (Middle College is ranked 900th, while New West Charter is ranked 913th). As for Foshay, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Horace Mann UCLA Community at 5:30 p.m. on Wednesday. Horace Mann UCLA Community has been getting the ball to fall more lately as they've increased their point totals each of their last four games.
