Baseball Recap: Garnet Valley Wins Going Away Against Upper Darby

Garnet Valley never let their opponents score on Monday. They put the hurt on the Upper Darby Royals with a sharp 10-0 victory. With that win, the Jaguars brought their scoring average up to 7 runs per game.

Nolan Carroll and Ryan McGhee did most of the damage at the plate: Carroll scored two runs while going 1-for-3, while McGhee scored two runs and stole a base while going 3-for-3. That hit marked the first that Carroll got this season. The team also got some help courtesy of Chris Schaller, who scored a run and stole three bases while getting on base in two of his four plate appearances.

The victory got Garnet Valley back to even at 2-2. As for Upper Darby, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 2-3.

We've got plenty of inter-conference action coming up soon. Garnet Valley will square off against rival Conestoga at 3:45 p.m. on Wednesday. The timing is sure in Garnet Valley's favor as the team sits on three straight wins at home (dating back to last season) while Conestoga has been banged up by three consecutive losses on the road. Meanwhile, Upper Darby is set to challenge their familiar foe Haverford at 3:45 p.m. on Wednesday.
