The Castle Knights had already won two in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 3.5 points), and they went ahead and made it three on Thursday. They narrowly escaped with a win as the team sidled past Evansville Bosse 66-63. Having run the score up that high, both teams probably have some extra defensive drills coming up.
Castle got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Xander Niehaus out in front who scored 15 points along with six steals. The team also got some help courtesy of Ayden Mcatee, who scored 11 points along with five rebounds and four steals.
Castle has been performing well recently as they've won five of their last six matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 9-6 record this season. As for Evansville Bosse, their loss dropped their record down to 11-10.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Castle will square off against the Titans at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Gibson Southern will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Indiana Rankings (they are ranked 232nd, while the Knights are ranked 77th). As for Evansville Bosse, they will head out on the road to face off against the Huskies at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
