Fossil Ridge has enjoyed a two-game homestand but will soon have to dust off their road jerseys. They and the Mountain Range Mustangs will face off at 7:00 p.m. on February 6th without much rest after finishing up games yesterday. Fossil Ridge has been getting the ball to fall more lately as they've increased their point totals each of their last three games.
On Saturday, Fossil Ridge got the win against the Lightning by a conclusive 58-36.
Meanwhile, Mountain Range's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Saturday after their seventh straight defeat. They were outmatched by Poudre at home and fell 61-22. While losing is never fun, Mountain Range can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Colorado basketball rankings (they are ranked 204th, while the Impalas are ranked 73rd).
Fossil Ridge's victory bumped their record up to 11-9. As for Mountain Range, their loss was their 12th straight at home dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 6-12.
Everything came up roses for Fossil Ridge against the Mustangs in their previous meeting back in February of 2023 as the team secured a 82-23 victory. The rematch might be a little tougher for Fossil Ridge since the squad won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
