The Troy Christian Eagles scored the most points they've had all season to find success on Saturday. They blew past Northwestern 72-27 at home. Perhaps unsurprisinly given the team's high-flying offense, the game also marked the team's biggest victory of the season.
Troy Christian got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Reign Wilkins out in front who almost dropped a double-double on 20 points and nine assists. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Wilkins has scored all season. The team also got some help courtesy of Brooklyn Lavy, who scored 17 points along with six rebounds and five steals.
The win was the third in a row for Troy Christian, bringing their record for this year to 12-10. Those good results were due in large part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 51.0 points per game. As for Northwestern, they have not been sharp recently as the team has lost seven of their last nine games, which put a noticeable dent in their 5-17 record this season.
Troy Christian does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Northwestern, they will head out on the road to take on Urbana at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday. Urbanapresents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than Northwestern in Ohio (Urbana is ranked 204th, while Northwestern is ranked 684th).
