The Banff Bears's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Thursday after their tenth straight loss. They were dealt a 58-31 loss at the hands of Humble Christian. The defeat unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for Banff in their matchups with Humble Christian: they've now lost five in a row.
Banff's loss came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Anthony Perla, who scored ten points along with eight rebounds and two steals. Perla is absolutely dominating the steal category: he's posted at least two every time he's taken the court this season. The team also got some help courtesy of Viet Vo, who scored ten points along with seven rebounds.
Banff has not been sharp recently, as they've lost 11 of their last 12 matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 4-12 record this season. As for Humble Christian, the win makes it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 12-9.
Banff will head out on the road to take on Cornerstone Christian Academy at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Humble Christian won't have much time to rest: their next matchup is against Annapolis Christian Academy at 7:15 p.m. on January 19th. Hopefully Annapolis Christian Academy focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 31 last Saturday.
