Baseball Recap: North Newton Has No Trouble Against Calumet Christian

After only two runs in their last match, North Newton made sure to put some runs up on the board against Calumet Christian on Monday. The Spartans were the clear victors by a 17-10 margin over the Patriots. The game marked the Spartans' most dominant win of the season.

Rhett Fox was a standout: he got on base in four of his five plate appearances with four runs, one stolen base, and two RBI. North Newton is 3-1 when Fox posts two or more runs, but 1-10 otherwise. Ben Levy also deserves some recognition as he snagged his first stolen bases of the season.

North Newton's victory ended a three-game drought on the road and puts them at 4-11. As for Calumet Christian, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 9-7.

North Newton has already played their next contest, a 12-0 win against Faith Christian on the 6th. As for Calumet Christian, they also wasted no time getting back out on the field and have already played their next matchup, a 7-4 defeat against Thornton Fractional South on the 8th.
