Despite a phenomenal run in the regular season, the Tuloso-Midway Warriors couldn't carry that success into this playoff game. Their rough 35-14 defeat to La Vernia on Friday might stick with them for a while. While losing is never fun, Tuloso-Midway can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Texas football rankings (they are ranked 607th, while La Vernia is ranked 206th).
It was another big night for Keegan Hajek, who rushed for 84 yards and three touchdowns.
Tuloso-Midway's loss dropped their record down to 8-3. As for La Vernia, the win (which was their fifth in a row) raised their record to 9-2.
Tuloso-Midway does not have any more games scheduled as of now. La Vernia will be playing in front of their home fans against Boerne at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. One thing working in Boerne's favor is that they have now posted big point totals every time they've taken the field this season.
