Stratford is 1-9 against Cypress Creek since January of 2019 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Friday. The Stratford Spartans will head out on the road to challenge the Cypress Creek Cougars at 6:30 p.m. Cypress Creek took a loss in their last match and will be looking to turn the tables on Stratford, who comes in off a win.
In what's become a running theme this season, Stratford gave their fans yet another huge win on Tuesday. They put the hurt on Cy-Fair with a sharp 60-34 win. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest win Stratford has posted since November 28, 2023.
Meanwhile, Cypress Creek unfortunately witnessed the end of their seven-game winning streak on Wednesday. They took a 52-40 hit to the loss column at the hands of Memorial. While losing is never fun, Cypress Creek can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Texas basketball rankings (they are ranked 402nd, while Memorial is ranked 192nd).
Stratford has been performing well recently as they've won six of their last eight matches, which provided a nice bump to their 14-10 record this season. As for Cypress Creek, they now have a losing record at 13-14.
Stratford didn't have too much breathing room in their matchup against Cypress Creek when the teams last played back in December of 2023, but they still walked away with a 48-42 victory. The rematch might be a little tougher for Stratford since the squad won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
