Riverside found their leader in underclassman Mason Ridgeway, who scored 23 points along with three steals. The matchup was Ridgeway's ninth in a row with at least ten points. Another player making a difference was Shane Crissman, who scored 17 points along with six rebounds.
Essex's defeat dropped their record down to 2-2. As for Riverside, the win got them back to even at 6-6.
Essex will be playing at home against Mathews at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Riverside will be staying on the road on Wednesday to face off against Heritage at 7:15 p.m. on January 3, 2024.
