Basketball Game Preview: Lawrence Academy Warriors vs. Northeast Academy Eagles

Lawrence Academy has gone 9-1 against Northeast Academy recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Tuesday. The Lawrence Academy Warriors will be playing in front of their home fans against the Northeast Academy Eagles at 7:30 p.m. Lawrence Academy knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with 55 points or more in their past four contests -- so hopefully Northeast Academy likes a good challenge.

Last Monday, Lawrence Academy lost to Northside - Pinetown on the road by a 84-70 margin.

Despite their loss, Lawrence Academy saw several players rise to the challenge and make noteworthy plays. Nike Wiggins, who posted 23 points along with six assists and six boards, was perhaps the best of all. Wiggins' evening made it four games in a row in which he has scored at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Winston Warren, who went 7 of 15 en route to 20 points and three steals.

Meanwhile, Northeast Academy came into Friday's game having lost four straight, but that streak is now in the rearview. They came out on top in a nail-biter against Bethel Assembly Christian Academy back in December of 2024, sneaking past 42-39.

Lawrence Academy's defeat was their third straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 4-7. As for Northeast Academy, their win ended a three-game drought at home and bumped them up to 3-5.

Everything came up roses for Lawrence Academy against Northeast Academy in their previous matchup back in January of 2024, as the team secured a 53-20 victory. In that matchup, Lawrence Academy amassed a halftime lead of 33-6, an impressive feat they'll look to repeat on Tuesday.
