The Smith County Owls and the East Robertson Indians squared off in some playoff action on Friday, but sadly the Smith County Owls had to settle for second. Smith County was outmatched by East Robertson at home and fell 49-20. Smith County's defeat signaled the end of their five-game winning streak.
Isaiah Groves was his usual excellent self, rushing for 254 yards and three touchdowns while picking up 12.1 yards per carry, and also picking up 84 receiving yards and a touchdown. Groves really tore up the turf during one magnificent 85-yard run. The team also got some help courtesy of Kason Young, who punched in a rushing scores.
Smith County's defeat dropped their record down to 10-3. As for East Robertson, they have yet to lose a contest on the road this season, leaving them with a 12-1 record.
Smith County does not have any more games scheduled as of now. East Robertson will be staying on the road on Friday to face off against York Institute at 7:00 p.m. on November 24th. York Institute is also coming in off of a big victory, so somebody is in for a big reversal of fortune.
