After a string of four wins, The Trinity Shamrocks''s good fortune finally ran out on Saturday. They fell to Steelton-Highspire 42-37. This was one game where the offenses had no trouble playing at a high level.
Trinity's lost despite a true team effort on the offense, the best among them being Messiah Mickens, who rushed for 154 yards and two touchdowns. Mickens was no stranger to the big play, turning on the jets for a run that went for 69 yards. Tanie Young was in the mix too, providing Trinity with two touchdowns.
Trinity's defeat dropped their record down to 6-3. As for Steelton-Highspire, their win was their 11th straight at home (dating back to last season), bumping their overall record up to 9-0.
Trinity will take on Halifax at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Halifax will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Pennsylvania Rankings (they are ranked 482nd, while Trinity is ranked 141st). As for Steelton-Highspire, they will head out on the road to face off against West Perry at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. West Perry has been dominant on offense recently, as they've racked up an incredible 238 points over their last five matchups.
