Football Recap: Beaver Piles Up the Points Against Parowan

Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Beaver). They claimed a resounding 55-14 victory over the Parowan Rams. The win continues a trend for the Beavers in their matchups with the Rams: they've now won five in a row.

Davin Orton produced another solid effort rushing for 38 yards and one TD, while also throwing for 56 yards and one touchdown. The dominant performance also gave him a new career-high in passer rating (156.3).

They were just one part of a punishing run game: Beaver was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 262 rushing yards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now rushed for at least 165 rushing yards every time they've taken the field this season.

Beaver didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off three passes before the game was over. It was truly a group effort as Maxwell Albrecht, Noah Wolff, and Emmet Lurth picked up one apiece.

Despite the loss, Parowan still got an impressive performance from Hunter Bettridge, who rushed for 103 yards and one score, and also threw for 161 yards and one touchdown.

Beaver's record now sits at 6-2. As for Parowan, they dropped their record down to 3-5 with the defeat, which was their sixth straight at home dating back to last season.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Beaver will take on North Sanpete at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Parowan, they will challenge Enterprise at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The Rams will be up against the Wolves' rather soft defense (which has allowed 32.5 points per matchup), so fans could be in store for a big offensive performance.
