Valley View has gone a perfect 10-0 against Nettleton recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Thursday. The Blazers will face off against the Raiders at 7:00 p.m. Valley View will be strutting in after a victory while Nettleton will be coming in after a loss.
On Tuesday, Valley View was able to grind out a solid win over Mountain Home, taking the game 3-1. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Blazers.
Valley View walked away with the victory (and looked especially good in the first set). The match finished with set scores of 25-9, 24-26, 25-19, 25-17.
The home team had won the previous four meetings between Nettleton and Paragould, and Paragould kept the tradition alive. The Raiders took a 3-1 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Rams on Tuesday. While the Raiders didn't get the win, they did start the game off strong, beating the Rams 25-20 in the first set.
Nettleton started the match hot and won the first set, but they struggled down the stretch and lost the last three. The final score came out to 20-25, 25-12, 25-16, 25-16.
Valley View will have to contain Kennedy Massey as she made an impact in Nettleton's last game. She had three digs and two aces. Massey is also on a roll when it comes to assists, as she's now posted 17 or more in each of the last four games she's played.
Nettleton's defeat was their 13th straight on the road dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 5-13. As for Valley View, their win bumped their record up to 23-5.
Valley View took their victory against Nettleton in their previous meeting back in September by a conclusive 3-0 score. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Blazers since the team won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
