Softball Recap: Lyons' Win on Tuesday Extends Winning Streak to Five

Lyons put another one in the bag on Tuesday to keep their perfect season alive. They put the hurt on the Clyde-Savannah Golden Eagles with a sharp 13-1 victory. The Lions have seen this before: they got the W the last time they saw the Golden Eagles, too.

Rylee Richardson was a major factor while hitting and pitching. She looked comfortable on the mound, striking out 11 batters over five innings while giving up just one earned run off two hits. Richardson was also big at the plate, going 2-for-3 with three stolen bases, three runs, and one RBI. Richardson is crushing it when it comes to stolen bases: she's snagged at least one every time she's taken the field this season.

In other batting news, Lyons got a massive performance out of Elise Wilkinson, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with three runs, one triple, and two RBI. Those runs marked the first that Wilkinson has scored this season. Peyton Bonnell was another key player, going 2-for-3 with five stolen bases, three runs, and one RBI.

Lyons always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .576. That was just more of the same: they've now posted an OBP of .515 or higher every time they've taken the field this season.

Lyons' win bumped their record up to 5-0. As for Clyde-Savannah, their defeat was their first in the league, dropping their league record down to 2-1 and their overall record down to 2-2.

Coming up, Lyons will challenge Finney at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday. As for Clyde-Savannah, they will venture away from home to take on Sodus at 4:45 p.m. on Wednesday.
