The Biggs Wolverines came tearing into Tuesday's contest with ten straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 26.9 points) and they left with even more momentum. They breezed by Maxwell at home to the tune of 74-39. Biggs has made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won ten contests by 20 points or more this season.
Biggs had a senior duo take command as Chris Kroupa shot 4-for-9 from beyond the arc and dropped a double-double on 20 points and ten rebounds and Emilio Vera scored 14 points along with eight rebounds and six steals. Kroupa also posted two blocks for the first time this season. Skyler Long was another key contributor, scoring ten points along with five assists and five rebounds.
Biggs is on a roll lately: they've won 14 of their last 15 games, which provided a nice bump to their 18-5 record this season. As for Maxwell, their defeat ended a five-game streak of away wins and brought them to 10-13.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Biggs will square off against Williams at 8:00 p.m. on Friday. Biggs is coming into the game with eight straight victories on the road, meaning Williams will have to defend against a team hungry for a victory. As for Maxwell, they will face off against Los Molinos at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Hopefully Los Molinos focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 24 on Tuesday.
