Buena hasn't had much luck against Oak Park recently, but that could start to change on Friday. The Bulldogs will head out on the road to take on the Eagles at 7:00 p.m. Both come into the matchup bolstered by wins in their previous matches.
Buena took a loss when they played away from home last Friday, but their home fans gave them all the motivation they needed on Friday. They simply couldn't be stopped as they easily beat Royal 64-24. That 40 point margin sets a new team best for the Bulldogs this season.

Jaxon Roberts continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines, rushing for 164 yards and four scores on only 13 carries, while also picking up 34 receiving yards and one touchdown. He has become a key player for Buena: the team is 3-1 when he posts at least 80 rushing yards, but 0-3 otherwise. Christian Quezada was in the mix as well, providing the Bulldogs with two TDs.
They were just one part of a punishing run game: Buena was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 278 rushing yards. They are a perfect 3-0 when they've run for more than 200 yards.
Buena didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off two passes before the game was over. In fact, those interceptions all came courtesy of defensive juggernaut Josiah Perez.
Meanwhile, Oak Park's game on Friday was all tied up 7-7 at the half, but luckily for them it didn't stay that way. They came out on top against Oxnard by a score of 26-14.
Buena better keep an eye on Grayson Auzat. He was instrumental in Oak Park's win, rushing for 82 yards and three scores on only five carries, while also throwing for 185 yards and one touchdown. Their leading receiver Harrison Macht was Auzat's top target yet again, picking up 158 receiving yards and one TD.
Buena's record is now 3-4. As for Oak Park, the win was their first on the road , bumping their record up to 2-5.
Friday's game might be decided on the ground. Buena has been excellent on the ground this season, having averaged 183.1 rushing yards per game. However, it's not like Oak Park struggles in that department as they've been averaging an even more impressive 185 rushing yards. There's a good chance Friday's contest turns into a tough fight on the ground.
Buena was taken down by Oak Park 41-7 in their previous matchup back in October of 2024. Thankfully for the Bulldogs, Tillman Lovett (who threw for 298 yards and four touchdowns while completing 75% of his passes) won't be suiting up this time. Will that be enough to change the final result? There's only one way to find out.
