The Temple Baptist Academy Royal Crusaders's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Friday after their 12th straight loss dating back to last season. They were the victim of a rough 50-28 loss at the hands of Clayton-Bradley Academy. Temple Baptist Academy lost against Clayton-Bradley Academy in their previous head to head back in January of 2023, too, but the margin this time around was much wider than the 25-22 score last time.
Clayton-Bradley Academy found their leader in underclassman Bria Moynihan, who dropped a double-double on 14 points and 11 rebounds. Moynihan set a new season high mark in steals with seven. Another player making a difference was Mia Adkins, who scored nine points along with nine assists and eight rebounds.
Temple Baptist Academy bumped their record down to 0-2 with that defeat, which was their sixth straight on the road dating back to last season. As for Clayton-Bradley Academy, their victory ended a three-game drought at home and bumped them up to 5-8.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Temple Baptist Academy won't have much time to rest: their next match is against Victory Baptist Academy at 12:30 p.m. on January 6th. Victory Baptist Academy comes in on a streak of failing to score more than 20 points in their last three games, a trend the squad is of course eager to reverse. As for Clayton-Bradley Academy, they will look to defend their home court on Tuesday against Concord Christian at 6:00 p.m.
