Northwood has gone 3-0 against Costa Mesa recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Wednesday. The Northwood Timberwolves will venture away from home to face off against the Costa Mesa Mustangs at 6:30 p.m. Northwood is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 55.3 points per game this season.

Northwood is headed into the game out to prove that what happened against Fountain Valley on Thursday (when they were outscored in every quarter) was just a minor bump in the road. Northwood took a blow against Fountain Valley, falling 80-42. Meanwhile, Costa Mesa was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their fifth straight defeat. They fell just short of Portola by a score of 72-70. Despite running the score up even higher than they did in their prior game on Saturday (57), the Mustangs still had to take the loss.

Northwood now has a losing record at 3-4. As for Costa Mesa, their loss ended an eight-game streak of wins at home dating back to last season and dropped them to 2-7.

Everything came up roses for Northwood against Costa Mesa when the teams last played back in November of 2023, as the squad secured a 68-36 victory. One of the biggest obstacles the team faced in that game was Costa Mesa's Kembe Howerton, who dropped a double-double on 15 points and ten boards.
