Clarkrange has enjoyed a two-game homestand but will soon have to dust off their road jerseys. They will challenge the Pickett County Bobcats at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Hopefully Clarkrange focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 22 on Saturday.
Clarkrange struggled with assists on Saturday (the Bobcats had eight more) and sadly the final score reflected it. Clarkrange took a serious blow against the Bobcats, falling 82-52. While losing is never fun, Clarkrange can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Tennessee basketball rankings (they are ranked 335th, while the Bobcats are ranked 94th).
Even though the team lost, they still had their share of impressive performances. One of the best came from Jack Cordell, who scored 19 points along with six rebounds and two steals. Another player making a difference was Kristopher Beaty, who scored 14 points along with two steals.
Clarkrange has been struggling recently as they've lost seven of their last eight matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 5-15 record this season. As for Pickett County, their victory was their fifth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 15-4.
Clarkrange was taken down by the Bobcats 82-52 when the teams last played on Saturday. A big factor in that loss was the dominant performance of Pickett County's Jacob Amonett, who scored 41 points along with six assists and six rebounds.
